Old Toronto, Ontario
Utility Company Contact Information:

In Ontario, electricity and gas consumers can choose to purchase electricity or gas from their Local Distribution Company (LDC), or from an energy retailer. Here's a checklist to help you make an informed decision if you're considering signing a contract. Remember, the contract price is for the commodity (electricity) only, delivery charges, regulatory and other charges will still apply.

Does the retailer have a licence from the OEB? Ask for proof and identification.
What is the "electricity" price the retailer is offering?
How does it compaire with my current service provider or other suppliers?
Is the price fixed or will it change in the future?
Does the contract price require you to transfer any rebate(s) to the retailer?
What is the length of the contract?
Will I be required to pay charges if I leave before the contract ends?
If I am currently an RPP customer, paying the RPP fixed rate, will I be required to pay an RPP Settlement fee (exit fee)?

If you have questions about the electricity or natural gas sector or have a concernw ith an electricity retailer or utility, you can contact the Board for more information.
